In 2012, reporters and photographers from The Province newspaper were given eight months of unprecedented access to life at St. Paul’s Hospital.
The result was Heartbeat, a multi-part series on the difference St. Paul’s Hospital is making in the lives of patients from all over BC. During each month of the series, The Province presented stories focused on getting to know patients, doctors, staff and researchers in different areas of the hospital – shedding light on the life-and-death decisions made every day at a hospital that provides care to 380,000 patients a year, including our most vulnerable and marginalized populations.
