LEADERSHIP UPDATE

November 23, 2011

St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation wishes to announce that Stephen Shapiro is resigning from his position as the Foundation’s President and CEO, effective November 25, 2011. He is returning to his home province of Alberta to answer a call to service in the role of Executive Director of Policy for the recently elected Premier Alison Redford.

“I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished together at St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation during the past four-and-a-half years,” Stephen says. “Although I leave the Foundation with a heavy heart, I am also leaving with confidence that our many donors and supporters will help St. Paul’s continue to be an invaluable resource for the people of B.C. for decades to come.”

St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation has already started the process of putting together a search committee for a new President and CEO. Stephen, our Board of Directors and staff have developed transition plans to ensure the Foundation will operate as usual while the search for a new President and CEO takes place.

Ivone Martins, Vice-President, Development, and Chris Fisher, Vice-President, Operations & CFO, will be responsible for ensuring the Foundation’s day-to-day operations continue to be managed efficiently during this time.

St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation thanks Stephen for his leadership and many contributions over the past four-and-a-half years and wishes him the best in his exciting new endeavours. The Foundation also thanks you for your support as we make this transition and look forward to updating you as the search for a new President and CEO progresses.
